This page contains little bits of information to help us understand the
liturgy and how our God interacts with us through the liturgy. It also
helps to explain why things are done in a certain during the liturgy.
| DID YOU KNOW...singing a hymn is praying twice? I once had a
music director who said he could teach anyone to sing! My Dad sang
all his life, even though my mother claimed he couldn't. He loved
country and western and opera! So sing out! We need
help! Any volunteers for the choir? Let's rock this place -
Fr. Robert. |

| DID YOU KNOW...that the time between the Liturgy of the Word and the
Liturgy of the Eucharist is a transition time? We take up the
collection, we can move around if necessary, thus the music or
quiet. The Procession of the Gifts signals the beginning of the
Liturgy of the Eucharist and is accompanied by the Offertory hymn that
continues through the offering of the gifts by the Presider. |
|
| DID YOU KNOW...that after communion we are in close union with God and
one another, which is brought to a closure with the prayer of the
Presider. To keep that spirit, the Presider will pray that prayer
from a seated position as to avoid breaking the flow. This will be
followed by announcements, if necessary, and we will rise for the final
blessing and dismissal. |
