Liturgical Environment

Volunteers contribute their time and energy to preparing both the interior and exterior of the church throughout the seasons.  Most importantly the church environment is designed to reflect and complement the liturgies.  This committee meets monthly to plan and organize for the coming month.  A couple of committee members prepare the church environment weekly.

Hospitality

Coffee, juice and cookies are served every Sunday after the 10:00am Mass from September to June.  Teams of volunteers are responsible to prepare the refreshments and clean up afterwards.  Parishioners donate cookies and coffee.  On the first Saturday of every month, a pizza supper is available after the 5:00 pm mass.

A meal for the senior members of the parish is held after the 11:30 weekday mass every two months.  A coordinator and a team of volunteers prepare and serve the dinners.  Often there is a theme that reflects a seasonal holiday which makes this even a very festive occasion.

Occasionally an ecumenical lunch is offered at the Church of the Ascension in which we help prepare and participate. 

Throughout the year special receptions are hosted to celebrate Confirmation, First Communion, Easter Vigil, etc.

Scripture Reflection

After Sunday Mass a volunteer leads a group of parishioners in discussing and reflecting on the Sunday readings.  All are welcome.

Ushers

This group of loyal parishioners takes up the offerings and assist in many ways to help the community in its preparation at Mass.
